Seed of Hope

 

Seed of Hope is a Social Therapeutic Horticulture project for people with mental health problems and dementia, based in the Walled Gardens of Cannington.

 

One of the benefits for people participating in our group is the gentle exercise intrinsic to gardening. Alongside which are the benefits of being outdoors in nature, experiencing increased light levels, working with others, and growing and eating seasonal produce.

Walking for Health

 

Doing some regular outdoor exercise can be one of the best ways to build up your mental resilience. For some people with mild to moderate depression, outdoor activities such as green gyms can be just as effective as anti-depressants.

- Join a walking group: this can be a great way to make new connections whilst getting more active.
